From its striking color scheme to its impressive articulation, the Metal Build EVA Unit-00 offers a display experience that few figures can match. But with a premium price tag, it's essential to understand what you're getting. In this buying guide, we'll explore the figure's design, build quality, and value, helping you make an informed decision.

Design and Detail: A Closer Look at EVA Unit-00

The Metal Build EVA Unit-00 is a testament to the craftsmanship that the Metal Build line is known for. Every panel line, every joint, and every detail has been meticulously crafted to replicate the anime-accurate appearance of the unit. The figure features a striking color scheme of white, gray, and yellow, with subtle metallic accents that catch the light beautifully. The attention to detail extends to the included weapons, such as the progressive knife and the pallet rifle, which are faithfully reproduced with realistic textures.

One of the standout features of this figure is its articulation. The Metal Build EVA Unit-00 boasts an impressive range of motion, allowing for dynamic poses that reflect the agility of the mecha in the series. The joints are sturdy and hold their position well, making it easy to display the figure in action-packed stances. For collectors who appreciate the engineering behind premium figures, this level of articulation is a major selling point.

• Look for the metallic paint application that gives the figure a premium feel.
• Check the included accessories: progressive knife, pallet rifle, and optional hands.

Why Metal Build EVA Unit-00 Stands Out Among Collectibles

In the world of Evangelion figures, the Metal Build EVA Unit-00 holds a special place. Unlike standard model kits, this figure comes pre-assembled and painted, offering a level of finish that is difficult to achieve with a kit. The die-cast parts add weight and durability, giving the figure a substantial feel that enhances its presence on the shelf. For collectors who prefer a ready-to-display piece without the effort of building, this is a significant advantage.

Another factor that sets it apart is its rarity. Metal Build figures are often produced in limited quantities, making them highly sought after. The EVA Unit-00 is no exception, and its value tends to appreciate over time. If you're considering this as an investment, it's worth noting that the secondary market often commands higher prices. However, for most collectors, the joy of owning such a detailed piece is the primary motivation.

• Consider the display value: the figure's presence is enhanced by its die-cast weight.
• If you're a completionist, look for other Metal Build Evangelion units to pair with it.

Before You Buy: What to Look For

When purchasing a Metal Build EVA Unit-00, authenticity is key. Be sure to buy from reputable retailers to avoid counterfeit products. Check for the official Tamashii Nations logo and holographic sticker as signs of authenticity. Additionally, inspect the packaging for any signs of damage, as collectors often value the box as much as the figure itself.

Another consideration is the condition of the figure. Since it's a premium item, any defects in paint or joints can be disappointing. If you're buying online, look for detailed photos and read reviews from other buyers. If possible, opt for a seller with a good return policy. Finally, think about how you'll display it. The figure comes with a base that allows for dynamic posing, but you may want to invest in a display case to protect it from dust and accidental damage.

• Verify authenticity with the official holographic sticker.
• Check for any paint imperfections or loose joints before committing.
• Plan your display setup to showcase the figure's best angles.

Enhancing Your Collection: Complementary Items

While the Metal Build EVA Unit-00 is a standout piece on its own, you can elevate your collection with complementary items. For instance, adding a high-quality decal set like the G-Rework HG RMS-179 GM II Decals can provide extra detailing for other kits in your collection. Alternatively, the Delpi Decal 1/144 Avalanche Exia offers intricate markings for a different mecha, expanding your customization options.

If you're into painting and customization, consider using premium paints like the Mr. Color Lascivus CL104 Gloss Pink Purple 10ml to add unique accents to your figures. For those who enjoy building, the Super Trans-Dimensional HW-01 Neptune Bust Model Kit provides a satisfying project that pairs well with your display. These additions can make your collection more diverse and visually appealing.

• Use decals to add personal touches to other model kits.
• Experiment with high-quality paints to create custom finishes.
