The panel separation on the Asuka’s hull is incredibly crisp for a 1/1000 kit, and the amphibious assault ship mode swaps over without any loose parts. I built it over two evenings with just a hobby knife and plastic cement, and the surface detail really pops even before panel lining.
The box art alone got me hyped, but the actual kit is a treat—the molded panel lines on the hull are crisp enough that even a casual builder like me gets a sharp finish. Slapped it together over a weekend and the assembly fit was snug without needing glue.
The 1/1000 scale feels just right for a compact display piece, and the dual configuration options really let you switch between an assault ship and a supply carrier. Assembly was straightforward, and the panel lines pop nicely without needing extra paint.
