The gold trim on the armor parts has a really nice metallic sheen right out of the box—no painting needed. It took me about two evenings to build, and the dragon transformation mechanism clicked into place perfectly.

Snapped this together in one evening and the articulation is way better than I expected for a kit from the 80s anime. The dragon warrior’s head and shoulders really capture that iconic look from the show. Finishing the panel lines made it pop, definitely a fun build for any Wataru fan.

The joints are sturdy enough that the dragon mode actually holds its pose nicely. I wish the instructions were a bit clearer on a couple of the smaller parts, but it still looks great on the shelf.
